Neck Lift in Barranquilla, Neck Surgery
Give your neck back a defined, natural contour. A neck lift corrects the double chin and the cervical laxity that give a neglected appearance, without changing your profile. With Dr. Boris Henríquez and more than 26 years of experience in facial surgery in Barranquilla.

What Is a Neck Lift?
Over the years, the skin of the neck loses firmness: a double chin appears, along with excess submandibular tissue and, at times, vertical muscle bands that show when you speak. The neck lift corrects exactly that: it removes excess skin, reshapes the tissue and defines the angle between the chin and the neck, without changing your profile. It is frequently combined with a facelift when the laxity reaches the face as well.
Who Is a Candidate for a Neck Lift?
Not everyone with sagging in the neck needs surgery, and not everyone is a candidate right now. A neck lift is recommended when there is real sagging that no longer improves with gentler treatments. These are the points we take into account to know if this is your moment:
Who Is a Candidate for a Neck Lift?
Minimum age with complete facial development
Generally 16 to 18 years old; before that the cartilage and bone keep growing and the result can vary.
Realistic, well-defined goals
The patient understands which changes are possible given their anatomy and which are not.
Non-smoker, or willing to quit tobacco
Smoking affects healing and increases complications.
Good general health
No decompensated cardiovascular disease, clotting disorders or active infections.
Valid reasons that are your own
The decision comes from the patient, not from outside pressure from a partner, family or social circle.
Availability for the recovery period
Enough time to follow the rest period, the check-ups and the specific care instructions.

Patient Process: 4 Stages of the Neck Lift
Consultation for Your Neck and Profile
It all starts with a calm conversation. Dr. Henríquez reviews your neck, the quality of your skin and the condition of your platysma muscle, and listens to what you’d like to improve. Photographs are taken in the office studio. You leave this appointment with a clear plan and a written quote.
Preparation with Your Safety First
Before surgery you get your pre-op tests done and an internist checks that everything is in order. The anesthesiologist evaluates you as well.
The Day of Your Surgery
A neck lift is performed in a high-complexity clinic, supported by a full team: Dr. Henríquez, your anesthesiologist and the support staff. It is done with local anesthesia and sedation, or with general anesthesia depending on how extensive the case is.
Supported Recovery
For the first few days you wear a neck garment or bandage. Dr. Henríquez follows you closely at your check-ups, and his team handles the lymphatic drainage at the same office.
Neck Lift Recovery: What to Expect Day by Day
First days – Bandaging and Peak Swelling
The first few days are the ones with the most swelling. It is normal for your neck to feel tight. With rest and the recommended care, this improves quickly. Don’t be alarmed: it is the most dramatic part and also the shortest.
Week 2 – Improvement and Suture Removal
The swelling goes down a good deal and the stitches are removed in the office. You can go out normally now, although still with some swelling.
The Following Weeks — Your Contour Takes Shape
You can go back to your routine and the angle of your neck already looks more defined.
Month 3 to 6 — Stable Result
The neck has already reached its final shape.
Post-Op Care Specific to Neck Lift
Taking good care of your neck after surgery has a big influence on the result. The first days are the ones that call for the most careful attention. Everything is given to you in writing, but here are the key points:
Real Results
Neck Lift Gallery: Before and After Cases
Real cases of patients operated on by Dr. Henríquez, some with an isolated neck lift and others combined with a facelift. Every neck is different, so these cases are a general reference.
A Natural Contour
It looks defined and in harmony with the rest of your face. The people close to you notice that you look good, without knowing exactly why.
Long-Lasting Result
It is a structural change, so it holds for several years.
It Works Even Better with a Facelift
If the laxity also affects the lower third of the face, combining them gives a more harmonious result.
Stable Result Between Month 3 and 6
The swelling goes down progressively until the final contour appears.
